The Royal Udaipur Rolls-Royce GLK 21 Proud Winner of "The Lucius Beebe Trophy" at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on 19th August 2012
The journey of Rolls-Royce 20 HP bearing chassis number GLK 21 continues, and on Friday, 13 July 2012, it once again graced the red carpet. This red carpet was spread out that morning at Shambhu Niwas Palace, the residence of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar. The shining and sparkling RR GLK 21 was driven in and parked on the red carpet placed under the specially erected marquee.
The stage was now set for the ceremonial and religious ceremony to bless and send off RR GLK 21 at an auspicious time on its expedition to participate in Concours d’Elegance event at Pebble Beach, California, USA.
This is in observance of the age-old ritual performed before embarking on a new venture. This is the world’s foremost historical car event and the holy ceremony was performed by the royal family priest of the House of Mewar, Purohit Shri Chandra Prakashji.
Assisting him were Raj-jyotshi ji (royal family astrologer) Shri Jagdishji Shastri and Pandit Shri Nareshji Shrimali. They chanted mantras and anointed RR GLK 21 with flowers and vermilion.
What was heartening to all involved in this project was that RR GLK 21 was given a regal and religious send-off for Pebble Beach—truly worthy of ‘The Royal Rolls-Royce of the Royal Family of Udaipur (Mewar)’.
