The Rolls-Royce 20 HP with chassis number GLK 21 that once lay forgotten and forlorn in the Zenana Mahal in the City Palace, Udaipur, is now a ‘car that’s a celebrity’.
It’s been featured in hundreds of local and international publications along with Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar and his Vintage & Classic Car Collection (VCCC), Udaipur. Some of the publications that have featured Shriji and the VCCC include Classic and Sports Car magazine, the 2006 anniversary issue of BBC Top Gear India, Incredible India magazine, Aalisha tourism and travel magazine, The Sunday Times Travel, BTW, Marwar and India & You magazines.
The House of Mewar and RR GLK 21 were also featured very prominently in the December ’07 issue of Hello. Vanity Fair, Spectator, Business World, Point De Vue, Auto India, the Times MAGAZINE, SWISS Universe and Gulf Connoisseur have also carried articles on them. The Abercrombie & Kent catalogue has covered them as have iHOLA!, Flylite, Know Your City, Go Now, and the 20-Ghost Club’s News & Record magazine.
RR GLK 21 is not only a star in print but also a star of the screen. It has starred in couple of BBC documentary films, and it’s also been featured on several TV shows and websites. All of which just illustrates how far RR GLK 21 has come from the day it came to the notice of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar. Thanks to all this coverage and publicity, RR GLK 21 has become quite a star celebrity and synonymous with the House of Mewar.
Apart from all the media coverage across the world, all events featuring the RR GLK 21 have been regularly covered in the Eternal Mewar News, the newsletter which is circulated regularly to friends of Eternal Mewar spread over the globe.
